best areas of Paris

Paris is a city of many faces and atmospheres. Then there’s the question of whether to live in inner Paris (central districts surrounded by the ring road) or in some of the nice towns in the near suburbs.

Everyone will be keen to choose their favourite districts according to their transport and budget constraints, as well as their expectations and tastes.

Families will eventually move to suburban districts or towns with good schools and green spaces such as the 16th arrondissement, Vincennes, Saint Germain en Laye or even Versailles. Couples without children favour the central districts if their budget allows them to do so. The 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th arrondissements are well noted as the most pleasant districts with good transport links and a village feel thanks to their food shops and multiple restaurants.

Of course, as for all European capitals, it will be a tough call to make.

The French Touch team will take you to discover each of its favourite districts.
